To be honest though the cymbals are absolute trash. They sound like you are banging on trash can lids. They need to be upgraded immediately. The drummer's throne is OK for a lightweight like a kid but will not stand up for long to the weight of an adult. Mine bent after the first day. However the drums themselves are not bad. The heads are tolerable for a beginner and can be upgraded at a later date for a better sound. The drums themselves are well constructed and with better heads can sound good for many years. I wouldn't recommend this for anyone wanting to play professionally but for a beginner set they fit the bill, other than the cymbals. Figure on investing a couple of hundred dollars to upgrade to decent cymbals. It seems built to "take a licking". I am sure there are better sets he'll get as he continues to improve & outgrows this set -- but I am VERY pleased. More importantly - so is my son!! |
