I'm a guitarist/keyboardist who just wanted to be able to lay down my rhythms with some real recorded drums. Without any experience, I can't compare the quality of this set to any other.Either due to cheap materials or excessively abrasive shipping & handling, the METAL kick pedal arrived broken in two!! I replaced it with the most inexpensive Tama I could find at Guitar Center. The crash/ride is definitely more of a crash than a ride. The hi-hats are fine. All the drum heads seem to be more plastic-like than some of the heads I've seen on other kits. But this, again, is coming from someone who has no idea of what the consistency of a drum head is supposed to be. I'm happy with this kit.
