It looks great, feels solid, sounds like you'd expect, virtually no assembly, contains hard rubber practice pad, sticks, tuning key and basic canvas carrying case.In all it seems like a perfectly fine student snare drum, especially for the reasonable price compared to $25/month to rent from local music stores. UPDATE November 2011 - my 5th grade son was saying this drum was really heavy to lug around, so we bought him the snare drum handcart, which makes things much better.
